City In the community (recreational play)

Our recreational pathway is designed to introduce young players and families to the game in a fun, structured, and supportive environment. It begins with our Lil’ Kickers partner program for ages 18th to 5 yrs, where players are first introduced to soccer through engaging, age-appropriate activities. From there, players can be selected into our Mini CITY program while also continuing their development by training and playing with our recreational league partner, Haas Park Soccer League.
To support both players and families, we’ve partnered with Coerver Coaching, a globally recognized leader in technical development. Coerver helps educate and support our parent coaches through structured curriculum, on-field guidance, and a video library of the skills being taught each week. In partnership with local park districts, CITY’s mission in the recreational space is to create a clear, community-based pathway for both players and coaches — introducing more families to the sport while delivering a positive, challenging, and fun soccer experience.

Club (6-19yrs)

CITY provides single age-group teams at multiple levels for both girls and boys, ensuring appropriate competition and development for every player. Each team is assigned a full-time, licensed coach who is background checked, SafeSport certified, and trained in concussion awareness and first aid.
Our training methodology is powered by Coerver Coaching, the global leader in technical player development. This approach emphasizes ball mastery, 1v1 skills, and decision-making, creating a consistent and challenging learning environment across all teams. Through this methodology, players develop a strong technical foundation and grow within a unified, long-term development model.
High school players (ages 14-19) can continue representing their school teams—girls in the spring and boys in the fall—while also competing with the club. For those aspiring to play at the collegiate level, our College Player Pathway provides the support and guidance needed to navigate that journey. Additionally, we offer unique international opportunities for players interested in a gap year experience.

ACADEMY (8-19yrs)

Players who are excelling within the club environment are selected through our ongoing evaluation process to step into the top level teams from U9+. CITY players and coaches are provided a full pathway from Grassroots into Academy all the way through to Pre Professional.
U13+ Girls teams compete in Elite 64 RL (Fall & Spring), which will be E64 National 2025/26. They will also compete in the GA DPL Platform kicking off in the fall along with State/Presidents Cup (Fall), USL Youth League and USL Academy U20 (Summer).
U12+ Boys teams compete in the Pre ECNL, ECNL RL and Elite 64 RL (Fall & Spring), State/Presidents Cup (Spring), USL Youth League and USL Academy U20 (Summer).
For 2025/26 our Boys teams will be pushing for ECNL National, while being confirmed in E64 National and EA League.

PRE PROFESSIONAL (16yrs +)

CHICAGO CITY DUTCH LIONS FC
Through our new partnership with Dutch Lions FC, we have created Chicago City Dutch Lions FC competing in USL Pre Pro and USL Academy.
The USL Pre-Professional (Pre-Pro) League is a developmental platform within the United Soccer League (USL) that bridges the gap between youth, collegiate, and professional soccer. It includes USL League Two (men's) and the USL W League (women's)—two of the top pre-professional leagues in North America.
Key Features of USL Pre-Pro:
- Pathway to Pro: Designed for top youth, collegiate, and amateur players aspiring to reach the professional level.
- High-Level Competition: Features elite teams, many affiliated with professional USL clubs, competing in a structured league format.
- Scouting & Exposure: Provides a platform for players to showcase their talent in front of professional scouts and college recruiters.
- Player Development: Offers a competitive training and match environment that mirrors the professional game.
- Shortened Season: Runs during the summer months to allow NCAA players to compete while maintaining college eligibility.

Drive Goalkeeping is the official goalkeeping partner of CITY, led by our Head of Goalkeeping Development, Tom Paparounis. The Drive Goalkeeping Coaching Methodology is built on Tom’s 20+ years of experience training under internationally respected goalkeeper coaches, combined with the age-appropriate coaching standards set by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and United Soccer Coaches to ensure top-tier player development.
