My name is Fouad Airaki. I was born in Al-Hoceima, Morocco, in the Rif region. I spent my childhood playing soccer with my neighborhood friends, and siblings. This instilled a life long love of the sport which lead me to coaching as an adult.
In 2002, I moved to Brussels, Belgium to continue my college studies. In Belgium, I took a break from soccer and began to pursue another sport, Tae-kwon-do. In 2006, I won the Tae-kwon-do National Championship of Belgium and still continue practicing today as a hobby.
In 2011, I made another huge life change by moving to Chicago and became a Spanish/French teacher. Developing my skills in education made me realize the love and talent I have for helping young people foster life skills. During this time, I fell in love with soccer again and co-founded a soccer team called Berber Stars (now known as Berber City)with my brother. We’ve had great continued success with our team, playing in the NSL Major league and won in 2018.
From playing in Berber Stars and teaching, I realized coaching should be the next step in my career and received my D Licenses in 2016. The last 4 years have been coaching high schoolers at KICS FC which was a great learning experience. Working with Chicago City Soccer Club South as a Director of Operations is the next exciting step in my coaching path.
