ALUMNI
CITY ALUMNI COACHES
The one of the most important parts of the City Organization is our coaching staff and we have been very fortunate to have some amazing people as part of our team over the years.
Angela Staveskie
Coach Angela is one of the strongest female coaches throughout Chicago and it was because of her aspiration to work in the college game, she left us. Angela went on to Coach at NIU and now Northwestern and will be remembered for building our HS Girls program and giving our players the motivation to be the best version of themselves.JD Jones
Coach JD brought such a unique personality to City that was a huge loss when he relocated but continues working in soccer in Wisconsin as an Assistant Coach with University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire as well as the Director of Coaching for their local club. JD is still part of our City family and still works with some of our players in the summer and attends College Showcases with them. Check out our interview to get an amazing inside on JD
Julianne Sitch
Coach Julianne, who is now the Assistant Coach for the Chicago Red Stars was a strong personality on our team in the early years. Julianne comes from a very high level of soccer and has played throughout the US and Europe, and so brought a different level of the game to our team. Julianne's level of standards are so high and our players were very lucky to have learned so much from her.
Mark Ward
Coach Mark was with us in the early years and moved on to work in the Academy system with former Chicago Magic. Mark brought a very detailed and analytical approach to CITY. He really challenged our team every day to think outside the box on player development and he showed such passion and desire to find new ways to get the most out of our players. Mark has gone on to some great things in the game and is now the Director of Player and Coach Development at Evolution Soccer Club in Naperville
Jose Galvines
Coach Jose brought another dynamic personality to the team which is missed but showed tremendous growth as a person and as a coach throughout his time at the club and he has gone on to work with some great clubs in Virginia and now Dallas as he relocates for his wife's job. We believe one day Jose will be back at City and we look forward to that very much. Coach Nick had the pleasure of chatting with him on his journey through the game, enjoy.
Chris Steward
Coach Chris, named IYSA Administrator of the Year in 2018, brought great structure to the club behind the scenes in the early years, and helped the club establish a solid foundation for the future. Chris dealt with all schedules and leagues for the club and became a board member with the YSSL while also coaching HS girls and has moved on to Chicago Fire West for a new challenge.
Robert Turpin
Coach Rob comes from a collegiate background and was on board with us when we were Chicago Lakefront Attack but moved on to be the DOC at Northwind. Rob was a trusted and very knowledgeable part of the City team and he still works with our leadership team today on growing soccer in underserved communities in Chicago.
